In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
PVCS strives for excellence in academics for true mastery of necessary facts, principles, and skills taught from a Biblical perspective.
God has made each child unique with special abilities and characteristics. Children develop through predictable cycles spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically, yet the rate and pattern of growth is particular to the individual. Teachers address and interweave these in daily classroom activities. High academic standards meet grade-appropriate goals and objectives. Learning should be integrated, meaningful, interesting, and functional.
Preschool is offered for three- and four-year-old children. The program centers around a young child's growth areas--social, emotional, academic, large and small motor development--presented in a Christian environment promoting and strengthening each child's God-given qualities.

Discovery Center
The National Institute for Learning Disabilities in Norfolk, Virginia, established the Discovery Center program for learning disabled students. Educational therapy is a one-on-one, intensive program designed to stimulate students' deficit areas in perception and cognition.
The goal of educational therapy is twofold: 1) to enable the student to become independent and successful in the regular classroom and, 2) to make it possible for the student to achieve at a level commensurate with his potential.
Prior to enrollment, educational and psychological (WISC-III) testing must be completed to document the existence of learning inefficiencies. Based on that information, an individualized educational therapy program will be implemented.
Students receive homework, and parental involvement is required. Therapy is twice-weekly for eighty-minute sessions. Students come out of their regularly scheduled classes.
Resource Room
Resource Room is available for students needing help in skill areas. The goal of Resource Room is to provide academic support specific to the classroom. Instruction is provided in a small group setting.
Elementary Resource Room students receive instruction in skill areas such as reading, spelling, writing, and math. The classroom teacher and the Resource Room teacher cooperatively decide on the skills that need improvement.
Middle and high school Resource Room assistance focuses on understanding classroom concepts, study habits, test taking skills, and the timely completion of assignments. This program provides opportunity for students to learn accountability and self-advocacy.
Psychological and educational testing may be required for enrollment in the Resource Room.
